Title: Triplicate Shipper Numbers
Post by podell on 04/24/03 at 07:53:10

We are getting packing lists that have the same shipper numbers on them.  Seems to be in groups of 3.  Ship dates and sales order numbers are different.  For example order #300255  that was invoiced and posted 3 weeks ago is with shipper #1234.  New Sales order #300276 is also being assigned with shipper #1234, as with #300287.

Per DBA we have re-indexed file BKARINV and BKARINVL and have re-set our counter in SO Defaults - neither has helped.  DBA said they had this problem come up in 1998 and hasn't been resolved yet :-X

Does anyone have any suggestions? ???

We are on version 2002.4 and do not have this problem.  Until, you get it resolved, you may want to manually set the shipper # in Sales order defaults each time.  It is actually called Next Packing Slip Number

If you are using the ISTS enhanced BKSOC you can't save the settings, because it will include the Shipper Number.

Thanks Karen for your reply.  We are also on Version 2002.4 and we are entering the number manually for each order, but we are going into release sales order, change the shipper number and exit out without actually releasing the sales order.  Then we print the packing list. This seems to be working.

David, you have me confused with the ISTS enhanced BKSOC.  What is it? :-/

Thanks for your feed back.

ISTS enhancements (which you can download if you are a paid subscriber) include an enhancement to many programs such as SO-C that allows each user to save the Y and N settings on the selection screen or programs such as SO-C to different settings than the standard.  David, the latest version ignores things like the shipper and SO number and Dates because they obviously change every time.  Will be a new post tomorrow.

That's great! I'm looking forward to it :)

Just wanted to let you know that DBA said there was a bug in the program and is not fixable at this time. :-/

After a little brain storming this morning in our office, we went into the Utilities and ran Fix Binary Zeros and went back into the SO Defaults and re-set the shipper number (packing list number) and it is working correctly now.

Thanks for listening
