Title: log-in problems
Post by joe_dunn on 08/22/03 at 17:43:43

Version 2002.3

Hi,

We're having a problem getting back into DBA after exiting. We get an access violation error. When I check the license administrator, it says it expires on 12/30/1899!!

When I try to re-run the floppy with the license key, I get a message that says "error copying start_up.run, please try again. But to no avail. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance! Joe

Rather than using the License Administrator, just copy the START_UP.RUN from the floppy to DBAMFG.  If that still doesn't work, call DBA Monday morning and ask them to email you a new START_UP.RUN.

Thanks Lynn! It looks like that did the trick.

I found this string in the archives that seems to relate to my problem....but i can log in fine.  But I am having the same crazy expiration date as Joe.

In Aug 2003 Lynn suggested : Rather than using the License Administrator, just copy the START_UP.RUN from the floppy to DBAMFG.  If that still doesn't work, call DBA Monday morning and ask them to email you a new START_UP.RUN.

I have (3) questions.
1) Could this be my problem?
2)  How do you copy the START_UP.RUN from the floppy to DBAMFG.
3)  the last registration disckette I can find is dated 4/2003.     I can't find one dated 2004.

Now I am in worse shape than I was!!!!!
I copied my START RUN from the 2003 reg disc to the dba mfg and now I get a huge LICENCE EXPIRED BOX and I cant even do a DBA pulldown.

I did notice that my START RUN that was in DBA size was only zero.   The START RUN I copied from the 2003 reg disc was twenty seven

I am trying to find  my 2004 reg disc.   But this was the year of the lifetime user "issue"   Did those of us that were life time users even get  a 2004 reg disc?

Laura,

If you did purchase a lifetime license from DBA, then they would have emailed it to you. Check your emails or the email address that DBA would have sent it to. Save that to the DBAMFG folder. It should be about 24- 27k not 0 bytes.  By loading your old license it has erased your company name & address so you will need to go reenter it.

If you can't find it in your emails then contact DBA and ask them to send you a new one ASAP.

Good Luck.
:)
