We will be starting to add a surcharge to our order/invoices soon and it will probably be a line item surcharge rather than a whole invoice charge. It would be really helpful if there was a way to get DBA to automatically calculate a percentage surcharge- especially by line item.

There is. In the SO line item discount field put a negative value. Basically 2 negatives equals a positive. Sounds strange, but works.

That will work but only up to -9.99%. Discount has only 2 digits left of the decimal and the minus sign takes one of them.

Thanks for the suggestions- I tried this but it's not quite what we need- experience with our customers dictates we need the surcharge amount to show and also a description of it- we deal mainly with Government agencies and they need detail, detail, detail - Thanks again - would still appreciate any other suggestions or ideas

We developed an enhancement that allows price surcharges/discounts by either percentage or dollar value with a description that feeds from a table that you can import into. Would that do it?

Would the enhancement for the surcharge calculate a percentage by previous line item? and if so does it calculate automatically or manually?

No it doesn't do that. It essentially just allows you to add a dollar or percentage charge to an SO line item and to associate it with a longer description available.

Next IS Tech Update (10/8 is the planned release) will have the capability to use the negative discount for amounts up to -99.99% (essentially a 100% upcharge).
