Title: Units of measurement/conversion Post by Vman on 05/24/04 at 13:03:24 How about a way to have seperate UM's for purchase, stock, and selling that do the necessary conversions. Maybe a user-editable table that would have the conversion multipliers for FT to Inch, etc. Right now DBA (and Ezijobz, for that matter) do not handle this very well. Inventory entry in DBA defines most of the UM field as user-reference. For example, in my company, we buy hose in feet, but would stock it (for issue to WO's) in inches, but would also want to sell it in feet. Thanks, Vman |

Title: Re: Units of measurement/conversion Post by Vman on 05/25/04 at 13:12:57 A very good idea. We have had trouble here when UM's have been changed, but no one did a "where used" and made sure that the appropriate conversions were made in BOM's. Also, you cost of goods can get pretty screwed up if you aren't careful. |
Title: Re: Units of measurement/conversion Post by aricon on 05/25/04 at 13:25:41 I hate to say it on this site, but that is one of the premiere strengths of the EJ product is the ability to create user-dfined formulas and use them in various parts of the system, especially for conversion factor type issues..... |
