Any chance that the length of the item number field could be increased? We often sell products using model numbers that can get quite long (up to 30 digits).

Wouldn't hold my breath for this one. The problem is that part number is used throughout the system, so it ends up having to be increased EVERYWHERE, including all the forms and reports it appears on. It is a BIG undertaking.

I agree, this would be extremely useful. Wasn't the Item number field expanded many years ago? It seemed that the proceedure took awhile to accomplish.

I would rather have a longer Description Field than Item Number.

Either that or true second line descriptions (that don't get treated as comments).
