Title: Write freight cost to DBA from UPS WorldShip
Post by Mike_Habich on 05/06/05 at 08:44:22

UPS WorldShip can export freight cost via ODBC.  I've figured out how to write the tracking number back to DBA (see post in General DBA Topics)...that's easy, because you're just writing a new record to the DBA file.  How could you write freight cost to DBA?  I'm guessing that it would require writing a field to an existing record.  Would this be most easily done with an add-on?

You are reinventing the wheel.  There is already an add-on to link the UPS WorldShip and DBA.  See www.addsuminc.com, they have had this available for several years.

Yes, and it seems a great program, sort of a limo as wheels go.  I'm looking for a training wheel for a scooter...don't need address import and such, since we ship to the same customers all the time.

Anyway, how hard is it to write the freight cost to DBA?  Is it something that can be done simply with ODBC, or would it take more?

I think you only need to write to the BKARINV file, field BKAR.INV.FRGHT because the SO-F program when printing the invoice will recalculate the invoice total.
