It would be handy to have a notes button like WO-A, to record miscellaneous information, history, or reminders of special instructions for future lots or future pricing, etc...

Quite often I would like to attach a note to a part for future use but don't really want this message mixed with the specs.

Ideally, the "notes" could be selected to be part of an sales order or not, as an extension of Specs, or might be used only for internal use.

This has been done. The new notes system that we showed in NH. can be anywhere in the system. There is a button on the lookups screen for notes, so anything you can lookup, you can have notes for, and the notes are now Memo fields. The one down side to using the new notes system is that they are for Evo only.. this means that you cannot run a mixed system if you want to use the notes. It is a SD-Q setting to turn on Evo Notes Y/N.

I will also be doing a new Links version of this too, so Links can be expanded from just Inventory Items to anything in the system, ie customers, vendors etc...

UNfortunately, no. The TP5WDBA.EXE can't handle the Pervasive Memo field type.
