Title: Import routings to work order Post by kkmfg on 12/28/06 at 08:53:48 It's nice that routings will be automatically used when making a work order but there seems to be no way to automatically update the routing contained within a work order if you update the routing in one of the constituant parts. This is no good at all. I tend to create work orders for the correct quantity and then I tweak things, add details to routings, etc. Well, I'd rather not do that updating twice. |
Title: Re: Import routings to work order Post by deburr on 12/28/06 at 09:56:56 I agree! But update of work order should an option and not automatic, as there may be instructions specific to that one order that should not be over written. The only way to do this now, is to reconvert the Sales order to work order and cancel the old W/O. Not the best way. I think it would be cleaner to update the existing W/O because the W/O suffixes in our system correlate to the line items on the customer P/O. Once you cancel a W/O, the system will still use a higher number suffix than the last one used on the last W/O and you lose that correlation. |
Title: Re: Import routings to work order Post by kkmfg on 12/28/06 at 18:53:27 Yeah, I meant to say 'automatic' in the sense that I would no longer have to enter in the new details twice like I have to do now (well, recreating the WO is easier...) |
