Title: P type PO on non R type item? Post by kevind on 01/30/07 at 14:54:44 Is there ever a legitament reason to be able to enter a P type purchase order for an item not coded as an R type item? We have a cronic problem with purchaseing people entering a P type order for Outside processing on a manufactured item (type A or F). When this gets received, it really messes up Average cost. Would it make sense to not allow entry of a non R type item on a P type PO?? |

Things like office and shop supplies, R&D stuff, etc. Even A and F types might normally be manufactured, but under special circumstances could be purchased. That said, I'd have no problem with an SD-Q option so that users could define which types they'll allow. |

What circumstances do you put a 'A' or 'F' type Item on a 'P' type PO?? My understanding was the only reason for an item being 'A' or 'F' is if there is a BOM for it. |
Title: Re: P type PO on non R type item? Post by Cyndee Pappas on 01/31/07 at 10:52:38 We would only buy an A type if we were short time or materials to make them. Doesn't happen too often, but it does happen. |
