Title: Select E-Mail and Print to printer concurrently
Post by awaretec on 05/02/07 at 07:34:11

One of my users would like the ability to select both the Print to email and the print to printer option concurrently, rather than having to run the report twice, or going to the pdf's folder and printing from there.  One step instead of two...

You can do that now.  At least you don't have to run the report twice.  Go to SD-Q, System Manager and set the Multiple Print Dialog Box setting to A (for Ask).  Then when you print any RTM, after you print or preview or whatever, it will ask if you are done printing.  If you say N, then rather than re-run the entire report, it takes you back to the Print Dialog box.  So you can Preview, then if it looks OK, email.  Or print a hard copy, then email.  Only caveat - do the email last because when it is done emailing, it doesn't come back and ask again.

One thing I've suggested in the past (I know, we're working on fixes not enhancements this year...) is to make the Print Where options to be Check Boxes instead of Radio Buttons. Most of the time I only want to print, but it would be nice to have the option of selecting two or three options sometimes.

I vote for Dave's idea. That would work great!

Third vote for the guy from the VT [Hard]woods.  We now usually do print + email.
