Title: Post dating of W/O's Post by Vman on 09/28/07 at 08:36:45 Currently, you can close out a work order on a future date, which in turn effects your inventory value. I would like to see at least a warning message if you try to do this. |

There have been a number of times when month and day have been transposed, or worse the year entered incorrectly, by our data entry person, not caught, and posted. Ugh!! I guess if we go to bar code reading for labor entry that won't be a problem, but for now.... For that matter, whenever a future year is entered by mistake in any program, I would like for big alarms to go off! The only way to catch it currently is that we have entries in "Future Transactions" in GL-O Post GL transactions, and we have been known to ignore these! |
Title: Re: Post dating of W/O's Post by kevind on 09/28/07 at 11:28:59 I would like the system to warn if a date entered is in the future for any date field that is used for any kind of posting in all programs. It would not be necessary to warn of a future date for any reports that only print and do not do any other processing. Dates in the past (at least with GL) are already dealt with by utilizing the Closing Date. |
