Title: Ship Date using "Est Ship Date"?
Post by David Waldmann on 12/18/07 at 10:02:50

I don't know if it's coincidental or not yet, but we have discovered an invoice that was generated with a future date. Estimated Ship Date was 12/20/07, and that is the date on the invoice. We do not enter dates in SO-E, and print Invoice Date same as Ship Date, and do not "Override with this ship date" in SO-F. This has always worked fine in the past, and the help file still says that it should use "Today" as the date.

Anyone else notice any problems like this?

Moving to Problem Reports - Repeatable.

Actually, it is a change on the program functionality based on user requests here in the forum (can't find the thread at the moment) that didn't get properly updated in the Help.  If no date is specified in SO-E, then the "Use Existing SO Date as Ship Date?" in SO-C and/or SO-F uses the Est Ship Date of the forst line on the order.  This was done for people who wanted to print Packing Slips and/or invoices in advance to use as "Pick Tickets" and have the Shipping Department know what day to pull and ship the parts.

At least it was intentional...

We've figured out how to work around it, it's just an extra step (having to enter down to the ship date so it fills in todays date).

Is there a default so we can go back to the old way?  We never print packing slips in the future and this incurs additional exposure for employee error?

You can use the "Save Settings" button to preset the Y and N the way you want them.  You need to read the Help for the SD-Q, System Manager screen, Configuration Settings.
