Title: Evo/DBA CRM
Post by Tim Goldstein on 03/03/08 at 22:23:07

It's Here!!!!

Sugar for Evo and DBA can be downloaded here:  http://www.chiefgeektek.com/downloads/SugarForEvo.zip

Run through the install using the defaults.  Write down your SQL and Admin passwords!  I don't have a recovery tool yet and they are encrypted in the dataset for security.

This version does not contain the Jitter pack or Jitterbit install.  Hope to have that by the end of the week!

You can populate the database with demo data for now.  to wipe the data and stat over,  go to C:\Program Files\sugarcrm-5.0.0\htdocs\sugarcrm open config.php and change the line that says 'installer_locked' => true, to 'installer_locked' => false, It should be around line 183.  then goto your CRM website and use install.php instead of index.php to walk through a reindex of the dataset.

For those of you useing Novell Netware based on SuZi Linux,  download http://www.chiefgeektek.com/downloads/sugarfornetware.zip Extract this zip to a directory managed by apache,  make cache, custom, modules directories and the config.php file writable.  Make sure you have MySQL 5.0 or hight and PHP 5.0 or higher installed.  You need to have cURL, Multibyte and and Pear enabled.  from that point,  open install.php from your browser and follow the prompts.  If you need to enable other PHP extensions,  it will tell you.

Enjoy.

Tim

http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/

If you don't need a CRM program or even know what CRM is then it probably doesn't interest you but you can go ahead and check out that website.

use the link on the forum not the website.  there is no link for it there as it will move to an external source in the next day or two.

Use http://www.chiefgeektek.com/downloads/SugarForEvo.zip

I forgot the readme in the install it can be found at http://www.chiefgeektek.com/downloads/release-notes-readme.pdf

It is sugar CRM.  right now it is stand alone and runs on IIS or Apache, MS SQL, MySQL or Pervasive 10 and by the end of the week it will link live to DBA/EVO.  It was introduced and shown in Las Vegas at the Symposium (see what you missed  :( )  I am finishing up the install that links it directly into DBA/EVO  however I showed it running and working at the Symposium and how to automatically link in anything you want from other files besides the CM and Customer files inclusing other data sets.

:D Hey!
Anyone have an update as to when this will be fully linked to Evo?  That's what we really need, not a standalone program.  Any updates yet?

TIA

Val

Tim, I am trying to install this on the computer with my stand-alone version of Evo.  It is a windows 2000 computer.  When I get to the screen that asks for the Apache web server port it will not accept the default port 80.  I am a complete novice with web servers and ports etc.  What should I be using here instead of 80?  Will this even work on a W2000 machine?

I'm no expert with his EvoCRM app but have you tried 8080 as your port #? That's pretty common.

Thanks Collin, I will try that.

Okay I have Sugar CRM installed on my stand alone version with Pervasive V10 workgroup, and have the demo data installed.

A few questions:
Am I able to link up with Evo or is this still being developed?
Is Pervasive V10 required?
Is this installed on the server or on each workstation that will be using it?
Where does the data that is accumulated through Sugar CRM reside?
If it is installed on the server, is Linux a better choice in your opinion?  Are there any problems with Evo on a Linux server?

Thanks Tim.

Is anyone using this and if so are you integrated with Evo?

I think that your best bet is to email the guy. He hasn't posted since March 4 and hasn't even been on this forum since April 22. You can find his email address at his website. Or click on his user name on this forum and you'll get his AIM ID.
