Title: TAS-G change menus Post by cathyh on 09/17/08 at 15:15:19 I have been adjusting menus for some time and am very comfortable with doing it. But I am having a really tough time with this lately. I am attempting to rationalize my groups of users and set up a menu for each. Some of the menus are changed only slightly and some have many items taken away. So far the three menus I "fixed" have not worked afterwards. I get this or a variation on this error message when they try to log on: Error during creation of menu item: "9","","1",",","H - Display Invoice History","(None)"," bksoh.run", "SOH","H - Display Invoice History"'"bksoh.run","N","N" This time this is one of the menu Items I deleted from the user's menu. So it is not showing on the menu anymore. Why does this keep happening? |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by cathyh on 09/18/08 at 08:29:02 I was getting ready to suggest that this really should have been moved to "sporadic" problems but I have tried this morning to add a button and menu items to several users and I get more of the same. I do not seem to be able to add anything any more. Taking away doesn't seem to be a problem. I really need to get this figured out...... |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by cathyh on 09/19/08 at 14:48:53 As it stands now I am having to start with the full admin menu and create each user by removing programs since I can't seem to add missing menus like Queries and User settings. I have about eighteen more to go-- does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Does anyone know what file this user menu info is in? What is the program that runs with TAS-G Maintain menu records? Maybe mine is corrupted.... Any help will be greatly appreciated! |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by cathyh on 09/23/08 at 13:16:05 At the risk of feeling like I am talking to myself I am adding one more post to this thread. I have updated to the 8/4 version and need to add new menu items to certain users. Quote:
Maybe no one else has experienced this- I could be the only one. Still, does anyone have any idea what the error message means? |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by Lynn_Pantic on 09/23/08 at 17:33:46 Once you begin creating user menus, you can copy existing user menus for new users and take more away rather than start over with ADMIN for everybody. If you need to add to an existing user, use the down arrow on the keyboard to create an "empty slot" to add the new item to. |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by awaretech on 10/13/08 at 07:30:41 We are experiencing the same issue when trying to add buttons and menu items...in this case, I tried to add the RM module, and the 5 menu options underneath, A-E. After getting the error message consistently, I gave up and ended up recreating the user from ADMIN, and removing unneeded menu options...but this is very tedious. |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by TooColdHere on 10/14/08 at 07:36:32 We are using the March version of EVO and have had the same problem. Tried to add WO-G for a user and then couldn't log back in as that user. Received an error message similar to the one listed above. Tried to edit the menu to remove the WO-G line, but it didn't even show up in TAS-G to delete the line. Had to delete the user's menu and start over. Very frustrating! |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by NovaZyg on 10/14/08 at 09:44:19 I have reproduced the error here. I will fix it. :-/ |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by Lynn_Pantic on 10/22/08 at 18:23:51 I have the fix. Patch to be posted; anybody impatient for it can email me. It also speeds up the loading and editing :) |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by lizod1 on 11/17/08 at 11:07:34 Our purchasing gal can no longer email so I went to TAS-K Email setup to see what was wrong. But now I cannot get to that menu as it tells me it's been replaced by US-A. So I tried to add US-A to my menu but either I don't know what I'm doing (very possible) or it's not working for me to add it to my menu options. Can someone give me the steps to try to get it added to my menu options? Thanks Liz I have updated to the 8/4/08 upgrade but am having problems with the SO print ECO options and the Save print settings for the SO options. |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by cathyh on 11/19/08 at 09:47:41 I don't see the patch posted on the patch page (the last patch compilation is dated 10/16) so could you send it to me? Lizod1's dilemma has also been an issue and hopefully it has been addressed in the patch-- The drop down menu for groups does not have all the available groups and I have had a problem also in the past adding one that is not in the list. One way I got around it was to add the user settings program (they begin with US..) to the system manager or TAS group. |

An alternative way to get to Email setup is SM-K. |

Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by deburr on 01/12/09 at 12:28:21 Seems to be broken again with the last update. It was working after Lynn sent me a patch on 11/04/08. After the 12/21/08 it doesn't seem to work anymore. Can anyone confirm this, or is just me doing something wrong? |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by deburr on 01/14/09 at 10:26:56 To get more specific, the problem I have relates to the original subject of this thread, changing menus. Copying a menu from another user works fine. I just can't seem to add a menu item and have it work. I get the same error message as Cathy posted earlier in this thread. |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by gtladmin on 01/29/09 at 14:45:00 Yes Steve, I had the exact same issue Friday for Walter, our Production manager. He wanted me to add the US menu and options for him, and that didn't work and corrupted his menu. So I had to take mine, edit out all the stuff he didn't need, to create his menu with the US settings. It was very tedious. I don't dare try to add it to anyone else'e menu now that I see others are having the same problem. I'll wait! (sorry, Lynn, I've been dealing with so many "little" issues just never got around to reporting this one) Val |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by deburr on 02/03/09 at 10:34:13 OK. Glad to see it isn't just me. Now I'll search around and see if I can find the fix Lynn sent me last year. Thanks Steve |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by NovaZyg on 02/03/09 at 10:44:43 Val or Steve, Can you send me your BKMENUSU.DBF,DBT,MDX files I want to see how this is blowing up.. I reproduced Cathy's error but I fixed that..so I want to see why it is not fixed for your data... |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by cmsk on 10/20/09 at 06:05:48 Trying to setup e-mail and we too get the US-A reference from TAS-K?!?! Help please. FYI: on the latest (9/16) update. |
Title: Re: TAS-G change menus Post by GasGiant on 10/20/09 at 06:31:04 Right. TAS-K has been replaced. Use US-A to set up email. If you do not have the User Settings menu, go into TAS-G and add it for all users. Open TAS-G. Do not click on anything yet.... now click on "Add Group" button at the top. Copy From: ADMIN User(s) to Add To: All Users Group To Add: Settings That will give you User Settings > US the next time you log in, so close Evo and reopen. Every user should have these programs so that they can select which view to use in T7 programs and for other settings, like email, that are specific to one person/workstation. |
