Title: CA State Income Tax is off Post by cathyh on 09/29/08 at 14:55:07 We are having problems with the CA State Income tax matching the amount in our current PR program (Quickbooks). The Evo amount is about half of what is computed in the QB payroll. Does anyone know what could be happening here? I have checked and re-checked the payroll settings for the 8-10 employees that are affected and they are set up the same. We have others that have computed correctly. Any help would sure be appreciated! |

If something is set on a two week pay period, and something else is set on a one week (or a one month) periodicity, you would see that kind of discrepancy. |
Title: Re: CA State Income Tax is off Post by cathyh on 09/30/08 at 10:21:22 Everyone is set up as bi-weekly in both systems. The errors seem to be across the board in terms of status and deductions. There are married(two incomes), married (one income), and single. One thing I don't see in Evo Payroll is the married with one income vs married with two income option in the CA state tax. We have not entered any historical pay data. So this pay is the first of the year. Will this affect tax amounts? I am also wondering if my tax tables are correct. The date on the BKPRFTX file is 01/29/08. Is there a different one for state? |
Title: Re: CA State Income Tax is off Post by cathyh on 10/01/08 at 07:48:55 I did some research on this and the suggestion is, if you don't have the "married two incomes" option is to set the status as single. The problem with this is that Evo does not have the option to set the status for state taxes different from federal and I don't want to set these employees with single status for FIT. Are any forum members in California using the Evo payroll, and if so what are you doing? |
