Title: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/17/09 at 10:28:58 Signed in one EVO Workstation as ADMIN for certain inventory items I can not see transactions or OH levels by location. If I sign on as a different user the transactions and location records show up. I am able to see this data for some inventory items but not others when signed in as ADMIN. I am not sure where to start troubleshooting this. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/17/09 at 10:52:13 The Admin account may be running different programs than the user accounts. When logged in as Admin, try using UT-A to run BKINA.RUN or T6INA.RUN instead of T7INA.RWN |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by Lynn_Pantic on 03/17/09 at 14:29:02 ADMIN may also be logging into a different company - perhaps an old test copy. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/18/09 at 06:01:16 Ok, I think Gas Giant, that you are correct. Now how do I fix this. The BKINA.RUN AND T6INA.RUN BOTH GIVE ME ACCESS TO THE DATA. I am sure this is signing on to the correct company as all of the current transaction data for other parts is accessable. When I set up EVO I just decided to use the ADMIN account as my user account and set up another user for another employee. I kind of forgot how to set up user's. In EVO it is a little complicated as I recall so I just let my employees use the one user account that I set up that has some menu restrictions, like system, etc... and I use the ADMIN. I have been using this for a year or longer and never noticed a problem until yesterday. This is why you should never let children play with matches!!! |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by RPCAdmin on 03/18/09 at 06:15:20 Ummm.......not good if T7INA is not showing some transactions. I am pushing many of my users to start using this. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/18/09 at 08:22:15 We need to define the problem, here. Are we talking about "not showing some transactions" or "not showing some of the data", which might mean that you can't see the Serial Number column. Where are you looking and what is missing that you are you expecting to see? |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/18/09 at 08:30:34 I am also seeing the same problem, although I am not logged in as ADMIN. I copied several menus from ADMIN, that have this problem. You can click on the locations, BOM, transactions, etc. buttons and there is no data there, yet when you run T6INA, the data is there. Some parts are working fine, while others are not. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/18/09 at 08:47:25 That certainly is a problem and may point to a mismatch between tables (e.g. BKICMSTR vs MTICMSTR vs BKICLOC). I note that you do not report being up to date with recent releases, is your signature line correct? And when was the last time you ran SM-J-C? |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/18/09 at 09:25:46 We are on the latest update as of last weekend. I have not updated my profile yet. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/18/09 at 19:50:03 So is that it, sorry houston we have a problem. No known fix for this? |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/19/09 at 04:11:56 As I mentioned above, still waiting for info from the two of you... from TCook: when was the last time you ran SM-J-C? If you at least run the master reconciliation in the test mode it would tell you if there are problems. from TFay: Are we talking about "not showing some transactions" or "not showing some of the data", which might mean that you can't see the Serial Number column. Where are you looking and what is missing that you are you expecting to see? Happy to help, but need a bit more to go on. Also, I'm moving this to the Sporadic Problems section. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/19/09 at 10:15:43 I ran SM-J-C in test mode for a couple of the parts that we know do not show data, it reported : Deleted 6 blank record(s) in the INVTXN file |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/19/09 at 10:30:49 Nothing for the Master Level? Hmm... sounds like a question for Allen. Most items show fine, but a few have BOM and/or transaction history missing only in T7INA. Something is causing those sub look ups to fail. Sounds like the T7 version of the look ups is not getting the item code handed off properly. Would you be willing to share a few item codes? If you could give me two codes that don't work and two that do I'll test to see if I can repeat. For others following this thread, we've been using the T7 programs from their initial release and I have never seen this with any of our 20,000+ part codes. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/19/09 at 14:09:36 Sorry, I have not run S-M-J for quite some time. I never really understood how to run it anyway but when I do, I just choose master then transaction and accept the defaults. I am also not on the most recent update. When I open certain inventory items, and click on location no data appears at all, blank screen. For those items if I click on transactions no data appears blank screen. If I run bkina.run or t6ina.run then the data appears, and is accurate. Only happens when signed on as ADMIN. I also know that when my users sign in to EVO they see the old DBA icons instead of the new EVO icons when signed on as ADMIN but that is probably unrelated to this issue. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/23/09 at 06:13:38 Where specifically do I find the step by step instructions on setting up a new EVO user, as I suspect that this is going to be the solution. Create a new user and stop using ADMIN. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/23/09 at 06:56:08 There is a lot of info gathered here: http://www.evoerpwiki.com/index.php?title=Evo_Menus_(TAS-G) Generally, it is a good idea to give the "Default" Evo menu just a few basic things like IN-A. Creating new users is a matter of adding a new name and setting up their menu. You could do this by copying the Admin or other user and then removing or adding menu items until they have what is needed. When I started I created a few standard users like a salesperson, an engineer, a manager, a production worker, etc. and copied those profiles when adding more users. One thing to watch is the multi-level menus. For instance, if adding the SM-J sub menu items, SM-J is level 1 and then the A, B, C items below it should be set to level 2. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/23/09 at 11:12:40 There is still a problem in our system, even though the ADMIN login is not being used by anyone. What do you mean by item codes? |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/23/09 at 11:27:49 part numbers |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/23/09 at 12:57:07 The following 2 numbers do not show any data: 390520-02 AL 356165 RF The following 2 numbers have all data: B452522-021 B452522-000 |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by TFay on 03/24/09 at 08:04:14 Hey Gas Giant, your wiki link above leads to no threads. I tried to look on wiki for this info and could not find it. Thanks |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by RPCAdmin on 03/24/09 at 08:20:44 The last bracket on ....TAS-G) didn't make it to the link. Add the ) and you will get it. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/24/09 at 08:21:08 For some reason this forum software leaves off the closing parenthesis at the end of the URL. Click the link and then add that ")" on to the end and you'll be there. Item 10 from the FAQ page will also get you there. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/24/09 at 10:35:25 Any new information on getting the missing data resolved? |

I'll have to ask Allen, but the space in the Item code could be the culprit. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/24/09 at 10:52:12 Error confirmed. The filter doesn't compile. Allen is looking at it. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by RPCAdmin on 03/24/09 at 10:55:26 I think Colin might be correct. If every instance of you having "missing" data is with part numbers that have a space, that might be the culprit. You could try using a dash instead of a space (we do that all the time). You also might try using SM-J-L to change 390520-02 AL to 390520-02AL and see if the data returns. What do you think Colin? |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by RPCAdmin on 03/24/09 at 10:56:20 Never mind, answer provided while I was typing. :D |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/24/09 at 11:42:29 It is actually a double space. Single space works, but double space is a problem |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by tcook on 03/24/09 at 12:00:05 Can this be fixed? We have over 1000 part numbers that have double spaces. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by GasGiant on 03/24/09 at 12:10:51 Given Allen a little while. He'll give us an answer. |
Title: Re: transaction not showing in IN-A for ADMIN Post by NovaZyg on 03/24/09 at 12:51:02 As Colin said.. it was a problem with double spaces. We used to have issues with " marks are not balanced in the Lookup filters, so to fix that I looked for double spaces in the filter and removed them. This seemed to help fix the " balance issue, but in this case changed the filter of part number XXXX YY to XXXXYY so now i have implemented my Baseball fix... Three spaces and you are out! Part numbers can have up to 2 spaces in it, but not 3. I'll send the fix to Lynn later today as I am working on something else in the lookups and it is not ready to be sent out right now. ;) |
