Title: Btrieve Status 12
Post by awaretech on 05/07/09 at 14:00:46

I noticed a problem when running UT-J, Generate DDF Files.  I got a BTRIEVE Error - D:\dbamfg\file.ddf - 5, on file WBTRVMEM, Field Name BTRV.MEM.BUFF.  I *think* I resolved that particular error by setting the location in UT-D on the file WBTRVMEM.  After that, I ran UT-J again and was able to get all the way through without error.  However, I also get an error in Maintain Database when clicking on the WBTRVMEM.B file:  BTrieve Status 12 - the Microkernel cannot find the specified file. Key=[d:\dbamfg\wbtrvmem.b].  Other files in Maintain Database open without issue.

I checked that location and the file *does* exist.  I want to get all my ducks in a row before I try to put the latest patch on.

I have already tried MDBFXREG, to no avail.  Any other ideas?

You can ignore any messages relating to WBTRVMEM because it is not a real file used by the system.  It exists because the Classic data dictionary can't han't handle file names longer that 8.3 so the "O" gets chopped off during the update process.

The actual file is the WBTRVMEMO.B file which is the Evo Notes file.

Can I assume that we are to ignore any and ALL messages in regards to  WBTRVMEM?

I am in the process of making a copy of my companyt thur UT-I and got the error message that I should contact support because the new compny couldnt find  WBTRVMEM  from the copy from comany.

Yes, you can.  Since you are DBA Classic only, you can also ignore any messages about WBTRVMEMO.B as well.  It is only used in Evo-ERP.
