Title: Wrong check numbers in check register and GL
Post by MBG on 09/25/09 at 07:54:25

Since the latest update, the check numbers that appear in the check register and the GL are incorrect.  Have to assume that the next check number stored in the system is corrupted somehow.  For example, we printed checks 4013 through 4028 on Monday, but in Evo those checks were given the following numbers: 4029, 4030, 4030 (note the duplication), 4031 through 4043.  This morning we printed three checks from a different check number series with similar bad results -- check numbers 879 through 881 appear in the GL and the check register as 882, 883 and 883.  The check number prints correctly on the check form, but is completely different in the GL and check register.

Programming is looking into this, I have had a couple of reports.  Short term workaround, point your Evo menu to T6APH.RUN instead of the new GUI   T7APH

Can you explain what you mean?  "Point your menu to..."?

You could use TAS-G or PS-G to reset your menu to the T6 program but no need, I just emailed you the fix.  There will be a patch posted this weekend; anybody needing it sooner can email me.

Does this patch fix the wrong check numbers for checks already issued, or for new checks prepared after the patch is installed?

Just printed a check, and the correct check number appears in the check register and the GL detail report.

Follow-up to my previous post on this problem... the patch didn't fix the wrong check numbers from last week's check runs, so obviously was a fix for new check runs.

But, now we will have duplicate check numbers for the range of incorrect check numbers that hit the GL last week.  Is there any way to go into the data files and change the check numbers to what they should be?  If so, what data files would be involved?

Thanks.

Paul

It will not correct the checks that were already processed.

BKGLCHK is the file used for the Bank Reconciliation - you could correct the check numbers there so that you can reconcile to your statement.
