Title: Lookup in IN-A no longer works
Post by David Waldmann on 12/10/09 at 07:04:46

This is with the BKINA form.

Typing the item number in directly works fine. But if you use the lookup, the Item Number field gets ".T." entered in. The lookup seems to work fine (although you can still see ".T." on the screen behind), but when you select something everything goes blank including the item number. If you press <Enter> the cursor goes from field to field, even ones you can't normally access.

This started happening after the SP5 install. BKINA.RUN created 10/23/09 3:29:06 PM. Size 296 KB.

Tried duplicating it here and it seems to be working fine (does not exhibit your problem) with the same size and file date.  It does have one quirk (we don't use BKINA much any more) - the lookup seems to work fine, but if you key in an invalid part number, it doesn't care.  It used to come up with an "invalid item number error", but that is no longer the case (it just returns a blank screen).  May help Lynn or Allen figure out what is up.

Upon further testing, (in our installation) it is T6INA that is exhibiting your symptoms - the .T. that comes up for a second when you hit the lookup, the lookup seems to work but when you hit enter you get a blank screen and the screen is locked up and you have to kill tp7runtime to get rid of it.

Sorry - you're right. It IS T6INA.

SP4 also exhibits the .T. error when using the T6INA/B files, though (at least in our case).  Seems like it has something to do with the lookup grid.

Ok, so why can't I use the SP3 version of T6INA? Is there a dependent file I need too?

I get a Fatal Error - File: LISTG60.LIB Line: 322

You need to use the T7INA.RWN orgo back to BKINA.RUN if you really like the old DBA version.  The T6 version is no longer supported once a T7 is released.  There is a "Classic View" of the T7INA that can be set at Settings - US-A.

I don't think I want the T7 ("classic") version, but I can't find out.

I went to US-A and selected the "Classic view" radio button under IN-A, saved, restarted DBA and ran T7INA. It still opens in the tabbed version and if I try to click the "DBA" button it still tells me to change in US-A.

Do I need to delete or re-set an ini file or something somewhere?

David,

We have found that sometimes you have to change the settings a few times in US-A for it to stick.  Try setting it back to EVO view - then save - then change back to Classic view - then save; and it should finally be right.

sometimes it takes a few try's. i've had to click on the EVO view, save settings, wait until it tells me the settings are saved, then repeat with selecting the classic view.

it save's those flag settings in the evosettings.ini in your local ists folder.

I've tried saving, re-saving, changing back and forth, etc. All to no avail.

The evosettings.ini shows that it is set to classic, as far as I can tell:
[INA]
EvoorClassicScreen=C
Converted=Y
