Lable Printing

How about and option to print item labels for items received.  The idea is to receive items and have a option to print lables for each item received.  Also give the user the option of printing one label for each part received or one label for each item and quantity received.

This would be handy for us as well.  We run labels for all product that we receive so we basically have to enter the same information twice.

I have also thought about solutions we could create for this.  Ideally, I would like to make use of one of those little thermal address label printers connected to the machine that the recieving is processed with.

It would be important to me to be able to select either 1 label or qty recieved labels for each individual line item received.

Sounds easy enough - what information do you want to see on the label?  I would think an RTM would be best, then people can modify to include or exclude whatever they want.

I think the RTM would be great.

I would like to have the following fields available:
Item #
Description
2nd Description
Specs
Qty Received
Date Received
PO # Received
Unit of Measure
Conversion Factor
Vendor #
Vendor Name
Vendor Item #
Logged in DBA User Name  Grin  Just Kidding! ...  (kind of)

RTM would be fine.

For me the fields would be:

Item #
Item Description
Second Description
Bin Location
Unit of measure
Primary vendor name
and maybe vendor part number

Did this suggestion ever materialize?  If so, what menu selection?  It is a great idea.

It is being developed as part of the new Data Collection suite.

7/14 update does include an Evo program that can be used to print labels for your existing inventory.  UT-A, T7INGIMPORT.RWN will allow you to import a list of Part Number, Quantity, Lot Number (optional),  Serial Number (optional) and it will print the quantity of labels as specified for each part.  The default RTM is T7ING1.RTM which includes the Lot Number as a bar code and you can modify the RTM as desired.  If you don't include a quantity of labels per part in the import file and want the same number of labels for everything, you can specify that too.

It uses a feature also introduced to the Evo IN-G program called "RTM Print Group".  In IN-B, you can specify an RTM Print Group for each item.  It is a single character so, for example, you could indicate A for one group of parts and B for a different group of parts.  Edit the RTM and make a different style label for each group of parts depending what information is pertinent.  Save the RTM with the default name plus the RTM Print Group character.  So for this program, you could modify the T7ING1.RTM and save as T7ING1A.RTM and T7ING1B.RTM.  The print program then will automatically use the correct Label RTM for each part.  Obviously, if you are printing a bunch of different labels in the same print job, they will all need to use the same size label stock.

I take it that this update does not work in Classic?

The label program, no, it is Evo only.  And the Data Collection suite will be Evo only but you could use the Data Collection Suite on handheld units running Evo while the remaining users are still using DBA Classic.
