Actual Start Date
03/09/04 at 14:28:11

We enter many work orders for the same product at the same time and spread the start date out over a month sometimes.  It is always annoying to see that actual start date which doesn't really relate to the actual date we start the work order, but only has to do with the date the work order was entered.  How does DBA use this actual start date?  How do other DBA users use the actual Start date?  Can the Start date and the actual start date be linked so that changing the start date changes the actual start date?

You must have your Work Order Default set to create Work Orders as Released which means the creation date is also saved as the actual start date.  You need to change that default to create them as Firm (Status F) and then when you are ready to start actually working on them, use WO-B to release them which will set the Actual Start Date.
