Add Component Rev to Traveler
03/30/05 at 10:16:38

I see that when you print out a BOM you now have the option of printing the drawing number and revision of the components.  What would be even more useful is to have the same option when printing travelers.  We have the situation where we are using the rev field to track the BOM revision level but the drawing may have a different revision.  When the traveler gets out to the floor, they are confused because the revision shown at the top of the traveler does not match the revision of the drawing.  With this new option, we could add the drawing as an item on the BOM and it would say what the revision of the drawing is on the traveler so it would obviously not correlate with the revision of the parent.

I agree this would be a nice enhancement.  Alternatively, you could use the SPECS section to list all relevant documents and their revs.  The SPECS are printed at the top of the traveler.

Of course, this could be taken care of through the Forms Editor if it had a more robust ability to add data fields to the RTMs  Wink

Actually, the Evo Forms Editor CAN handle this particular instance.  We did make sure that the Inventory master files are opened by WO-C and if you are in the header section they are looking at the parent part and if you are in the BOM section they are looking at the component part.

Oooooh, she's right.  It worked.  While I was playing around with this, I noticed that the rev field is already there.  You just have to make it visible.  I'm sure it's been there for a long time and I'm just waking up. Tongue

Thanks
