It would be helpful if in the system's bill of material, product revisions can be defined within separate BOM methods, thus enabling you to maintain separate components and routing data for each revision without having to do so using separate part numbers. At time of job creation, you could specify the product revision you wish to manufacture.
 
Another great addition would be to develop a relatively simple ECN capability that will enable you to plan and track Items and BOM changes with appropriate sign-offs, controls, and linked documents.
 
Found these ideas on the DBA next Gen site and would be something I would be will to pay for.
 

I have discussed this recently with another customer, also willing to participate both conceptually and financially in the project.  I promised her some specs and a cost estimate - I will include you in the correspondence and also post a summary here on the board for anybody else who may be interested.

I have to believe that there is loads of support out there for the project that we spoke about.

Any other companies willing to assist with the project costs would be greatly appreciated.  There may even be an opportunity to add additional functionality at the same time if we can muster up enough interest!!!  Sure beats the cost of purchasing a new software system.
