now that we can designate the status of items, as Obsolete, Discontinued etc. for those companies that are cleaning up their Inventory Database, their best option is to Set a mass of parts to Obsolete. ( or renumber them and make them obsolete.)
 
suggestion from the peanut gallery, is to allow the Item Lookup filter to display only Active Items, or Active, Engineering, or whatever the combination.
 
it could be an SD-Q setting, since not every Evo company may want that filtering option. but it would very nice to limit the Lookup list itself.

i agree... if... that drill down lookup function was available in ALL item lookups. like SO, PO, WO's, etc. etc.
 
right now it's only in IN-A. i'm sure it's functionality is going to spread to other menu's...
 
but. to carry it one step further. from a users point of view, so they do Not have to keep loading different filters, is to have an SD-Q setting to automatically filter OUT the Obsolete, or whatever the setting is.
 
some companies end up creating thousands of Item numbers, that at one time may have transactions. rather than trying to delete them, which is what they really want to do, it's best that they just Obsolete them. problem is that they just don't even want the users to have to see the item in the list, even tho they know they can't or shouldn't use it. so removing the item from the list in the lookup, is an aesthetic device that gives them a warm fuzzy.
