Common menu items, or any program that I will be using repeatedly, I assign to hot keys so that I can bypass that whole mouse-clicking waste of time. I got so used to using F keys back in the WordPerfect days that slapping Ctrl-F1 for IN-A happens faster than I could get my right hand to the mouse  Cheesy

Many KUDOS to Gas Giant!!!  I read your FAQ topic, too, on EVOwiki site.

I now have hot keys assigned to repetitive tasks.  (though, the topic should mention that ONLY the system administrator has access to TAS-G and can assign the hot keys)   Grin

I vote for the Classic behavior, with the menus staying open. Like for WO-D, everyone here is long used to flying thru series of "D : Key in WO# : <F10> : P : Enter : D..." (loop to start). If the menu stays open like Classic, isn't this a simpler, single-keystroke (D), versus a two-finger hotkey of some sort that has to be setup individually on each client? Even Colin hadn't gotten around to doing it for his users.

If you have a different menu setup for every user, then yes, you would have to set each one up individually. We only have two menu setups. Once we make or modify one we copy it to each person that needs it.

Also, there are 12 one-button hotkeys - all the function keys can be programmed. Those are the ones I have set to the most commonly used features where you often do multiple loops, like SO-N & WO-C/D.

I guess we just don't use DBA the way some others do. For one, we don't use WO-D. For another, most repetitive processing tasks here are done by one or two people, so setting up hot keys uniquely for each user makes the most efficient use of their time. The more options the better Smiley

Actually, in the latest update posted this morning, we have fixed TAS-H which is a program that allows a user to rearrange their own menu and assign Hot Keys without being able to add access to any program they do not already have.  So if you give your users access to TAS-H, they can make their own hot keys.
