Product Weight Information

The weight entered in enter inventory never did anything before.  Does it do anything yet?  Obviously the main goal (for us) would to be able to print a packing slip or do a sales order inquiry that would show us the weight of the whole order.

And, boy wouldn’t it be nice to have the item weight (for work order reference, production, & customer service) AND the shipping weight (for shipping & customer service)!  This obviously would have to be two separate fields to work for us.

Thanks!

This is a great suggestion.  I wholeheartedly second it.

...and maybe additional weight fields for other purposes.  We send to outside services.  The weight for heat treat is different then the weight after machining, or the weight before forging.

We currently type the weight/pc in the Reference Field when recording finished production.

When in SO-A you can see the line and total weights, but it sure would be nice to be able to print it on the Pick/Pack List.

David,

Good to see you are still with us.  Smiley  The total weight stuff has been there for a few years now. Make sure you have the latest RTM and then check it. It may be a hidden/invisible field that you can turn on with the RTM editor.

and definitely one that can be done with a Crystal Report  Wink i'm sure one would want to Total or Subtotal either by box or pallette, or whole shipment. can't wait until someone posts a thread asking for a comprehensive shipping method..... Smiley

I can't make it work. I have a 12/05 RTM that has the "Total Weight" field in it. It's visible, but the weight still doesn't print.

I'm just remembering - didn't you add or change the weight field to accommodate larger numbers? Is that the field it's using? We use the standard weight field in IN-B between "Receive to QC" and "Foot Factor" - is that the problem?
