Let me re-phrase this post:
I run a small design/build electronics business. I try to hold no inventory. Almost all items are entered as R types and are included in MRP generation. I really use DBA/Evo for it's BOM creation and job costing features. All my WO's are simple types with labor being issued as an inventory type.....no workcenters.
When a project comes in I would like to generate an MRP that disregards inhouse inventory levels and only generates PO's for SO's, WO's or Forecasts. PO's would be have exactly what I need to fill WO's in hand and I can use the LIST option to manually adjust the few items that I know I'm carrying on the shelf. Right now I use the LIST option but end up adjusting most of the PO qtys.
The reason for all this is that my inventory items are cheap and I often have outside PO's drop shipped to subcontracting assembly houses. It's not worth the expense to bring orders in house to combine with on-hand inventory and ship full kits back out.
Any ideas ?
