Format custom statements
05/13/08 at 09:50:09

I know I have complained about this before but I am not going to look for it, I will just restate:
The Evo version of format custom statements is limited to a certain number of lines and no more  I have a couple of P&L versions that have lots of sub totals.  Today when I went into one that needed an account added to a range of accounts, added the account, saved the report, and the last 10 or so lines were deleted from the report.
In order to add them back I have to go into DBA Classic.
What was left of the report in DBA Classic was 195 lines which must be the limit.  Can you please fix this? Evo should at least be able to handle what the classic version can.

Cathy - How many lines is the custom statement limited to?  I am just starting to set up our custom statements and we have many GL accounts.  Just want to know best way to approach this.

Should I just start developing the statement in Classic?  Is there a big difference in how these custom statements are formatted between Evo and Classic?

Thanks.

This is an old post of mine-- I just tried changing one with 80 + lines and it worked okay, so I don't know if this is fixed or not because I don't remember if I have a longer one.   Lately I am having bigger problems with this program which sends me to DBA Classic (writing a custom statement in DBA classic works fine with Evo-- apparently no difference)
1) The lookup menu does not work and in fact if I click on the lookup button I have to go directly to CTRL/ALT/DEL to close the program because it freezes.
2) If I happen to remember the custom statement name and get into the statement, the buttons at the bottom are hidden (Add, Edit, Delete) so that it makes it harder to add or delete (you can edit by highlighting the line and hitting Enter).
If you start developing them in Classic, and this gets fixed you will be able to use the Evo version to edit them in the future.  The programs use the same data.
I hope this helps.

I hate to keep whining about this but it just happens that I have to create a new custom report.  I did it completely in DBA classic because I don't trust the Evo version.  Now I would just like to be able to print it out in Evo and that does not work either.  The form is t6AMF1 and at first I got blank page, then I got many pages of Totals labels and lines but no accounts etc.  I guess I will go back to Classic.....

I guess not too many people are using this program!

Which program? Do you mean the custom statements or Evo itself?

There is really nothing wrong with using both DBA and Evo.

I mean the custom statements program in Evo-- there is nothing "wrong" with using both DBA Classic and Evo if you have them both, but aren't new customers just running Evo?  Shouldn't the AM-F Format Custom statements  work in Evo too?
