E-mailing invoices
07/14/08 at 08:47:42

I have a TS user (remote salesman) who has been successfully e-mailing invoices to his customers.  It has suddenly stopped working.  Here are the messages he receives:

After selecting the invoice to print, he gets to the print window.
He selects e-mail.
After he selects OK - he gets the error:  Unable to open file C:\ISTS\PDFS\Ixxxxx.PDF.
This has only started recently.

Any clues as to what has stopped working?

yeah, have him run the new user settings. US-A. or T7SMK.RWN..

Click on the email tab. then click on the Attach path entry field. press Enter then save and exit.

I have seen it happen to a few users that the conversion did not take.. this fixes it.

Allen,

Tried that, didn't help - still getting the error.

Looked at the nzemail.cfg file and the fourth line is  " PC:\ISTS\PDFS\" - wasn't sure if this is correct or not.

OK - I think I got it.  Went into US-A, deleted what was on the Attach path entry field, so it is now just \, and saved it.  It is now working correctly.

Check to see where the PDFs are going - if the path is just \ then you may be cluttering up the DBAMFG with a bunch of unnecessary files.  It should be set to a specific path - doesn't matter where so long as the folder exists andhte user has write access to it.

Originally it was set to C:\ISTS\PDFS\  and that was not working.  I might try fiddling around with some other directories to see if it will still work.

OK - remember that this is a Terminal server user - I tried setting it again to C:\ISTS\PDFS\ and it did not work.  I set it to M:\ISTS\PDFS\ and it did work.
