Updating the ECO on a Sales Order
08/28/08 at 10:16:51

Hi!!
How can I get the latest drawing revision to print correctly on the Sales Order Copy?  We have a customer drawing update from Rev F to Rev G and we always have to build/deliver to the latest drawing revision.  Sales Order has been created for Revision F.
I updated the revision with IN-A Characteristic screen and also made the it the default as latest and then went to to SO-A.  After I entered through all the line items one by one watching the Drawing and Rev fields change from F to G - I went to notes and added information regarding the Revision to the Sales Order, etc. then printed.  It prints with the original Rev F.  I want the Sales Order copy to now reflect the G revision.  Before ECO ability on Sales Orders we used to use a second line as description for the item with the Rev. noted.  Do I have to go back to that?  Then I get two different rev's referenced on the printed copy!!!
Please help!!

Thanks
Liz

Thanks!

I haven't applied the update yet.  Got too many irons in the fire!  Have to contact Lynn for password.  Somehow I get emails about the update but not the one with the password in it.  That may go to our owner but haven't had chance to review his emails.  I will stop and do it.  Turns out he's been updating the notes on the Sales Order to reference the latest rev but changing the hard copy in the file folders by writing the new one in by hand!!

Thanks again for your help

OK - if the bug was fixed what is the next step for me to get the latest Rev to print on the Sales Order?
I applied the update of 8/4/08 over the weekend but today when i tried to reprint the Sales Order it still has the old rev.  I even went in to IN-A and deleted the new revision and then added it back but no luck.  The item number on the Sales Order is still reflecting Rev F and I want it to be Rev G!  How do I accomplish that?  I have Use ECO for drawing and revisions checked as Y on SD-Q (Items) - is there something else I have to check?

Thanks

Use maintain database and open ISORDECO.B??  the problem is that there are more then one entry per SO and it is only getting the first one.. Just delete the entries for that SO then go back into SO-A and enter through the lines.

That should fix it.

Hi!
Now I have the same problem but on new drawings/new part numbers/new sales orders.  I have a large order for 32 different product numbers and all are new to our build.  I added the new part numbers and at that time added the drawing and revision to the ECO info under the characteristics tab.  Now I am inputting the sales orders.  We are doing separate sales orders for each part number because they are serialized assemblies and they have to have individual travelers for each serial no which builds up the paperwork in the file.  Now to the problem.  I input the sales order and when I put in the part number and hit enter the ECO status displays above as usual.  Then I do the notes.  Then I save the SO.  When I print the sales order the drawing data does not display. I did four this am and discovered it when I reviewed the orders.  So then I went back and entered through the line item, saved the SO and then printed.  Yes, now the drawing data prints on the sales order copy.  However!!!!  Now I have duplicate entries in the ISORDECO file!!!  Now what do I do?  How can I prevent this duplicate entry?  Why doesn't the drawing info print on the sales order copy the first print?  Please help.
Liz

This is now fixed Grin and it is so much easier to just put in the line items, save and print.
