It is possible to print the total ship weight and the ship weight by line item as well.  For the total ship weight:  There is an invisible field at the bottom of the SOC rtm called "TOTAL_SHIP_WT".  Set it to visible and rename the datafield to 'TOTAL.SHIP.WT' and you will get the total.  For the line items: In the subreport ppReport1SubReport1 which has the SO line item information, add two new fields.  "wt.per.line" and "tot.wt.per.line".  The difference between the two fields is that the 'tot.wt.per.line' does not print the decimals.
