I am going to bring these up one more time in hopes that maybe they will get some attention before the next update.

1.) The AM-F program: Format Custom Statements, is useless.  The menu does not display a single existing Custom statement, so if you don't remember exactly how it is titled you are out of luck.  If you do remember and type it in, when you get to the edit screen, key buttons are missing-  you can get HELP,SAVE PRINT, or QUIT but the two main edit buttons are not visible.  And I have tried even with these disadvantages, and have lost the end of several custom forms I set up because apparently the EVO version can only handle so many lines, not nearly enough.

2.) Maintain menu Access is still not working correctly.  I have tried repeatedly to add the Settings button to the GROUP Buttons(it is not a choice and trying to force it by typing it in does not work), to the MENU buttons under System Manager, (where it is a choice but when I saved it didn't show up the next time the user logged in)The only way I can get   US programs ainto a menu is to add them to and already existing MENU Button.

Maybe you have fixed these issues in the last update which I am not on , but I haven't seen anything in the literature on the update.
I am just about ready to load that update- I just need to find the time, and if I hear one or both of these are fixed I will find the time!

Sorry if this sounds like a rant but I have had a bad day-TGIF!!

sorry you are having a bad day.  hope it gets better for you!

1.) on the AM-F. use Maintain Database and see if you have any records in the BKGLFSTL file for your company. that file maintains all the records for the Custom Financials. i have a copy of a system here, and AM-F works fine. i'm on the Dec 08 update w/ all patches.

2.) on the menu access, I'm able to add the Group button, but the menu button doesn't seem to stick sometimes, and i keep fussing with it. I generally find that sometimes it's best to Copy from another User or Admin, and then re-edit their menu access.

hth, have a nice weekend.

Thanks Dave for your response.

My weekend cured me of my bad mood!

1) I have records in this file, and if I know the name of the report and type it in, I can bring the report up.  I just tried running this program on my stand-alone copy and the lookup works, and the buttons are on the bottom.  When I run it on my live copy on the network, when I do a lookup, I have no list of reports and if I try to do a search I get an error "Access violation at address 006974BC in module tp7runtime.exe Read of address 00000004".

I have tried copying the file from my stand- alone test and it still does not work-  the date on the run file BKAMF is the same 6/2/2004, but the caption on the top is different, on my stand alone it is 10/28/08, and on my live company it is 2/11/08 even after I copy the file over. ?????

2)  I just tried again to add a group and menu and after adding a blank record after the added menu button it seems to stick.  But then I have the problem of having tried the first time and failed, and since I added the programs from the drop down list, they are no longer there when I try the second time.  I have to add them manually.  Ugh!

I don't necessarily want to recreate this menu by copying since it is already customized and I shouldn't have to do that all over again just to add a group or a menu.

Cathy,

the menus issue is one I have worked on, and I know what the error is, but not sure how to fix it..  It is an inherited error that we got when we bought the Menu system.  Quick example  Admin's menu is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8......37

Your users menu after editing out all the stuff they don't need is 1,5,7,9,13.

The number of butons in admin is 37, the number of buttons in Your user is 5.   So if you want to add a new button it should be button 6, but wait.. there was a menu 6, and the system knows that.. and it is supposed to be after 5, not after number 13, whats going on.,.. CRASH....

So I am looking into ways to fix this, without having to rewrite the entire menu system.. but it's not easy.

As a test.. go into MaintainDB  and edit bkmenusu.C  look at the bk_mnu_bnum for the person you want to add a button to. (don't do it to the one that is already messed up) but make the number  50 then try adding the button. If that works let me know, maybe I can do the same in the code.
