RTM GROUPS
08/18/09 at 11:34:11

I am trying to implement RTM GROUPS for specific customers to print modified RTM'S. I use DBA classic (ver 2004.1 - 7/14/07)
I filled in the customer RTM GROUP field with "B"  and saved a modified packing list as BKARSOC4B.rtm.
When printing P/S for this customer, it still prints the default (BKARSOC4.rtm).

The customer in question has multiple ship-to's. I noticed that a field in the BKARCUST database, EXTRA, contains an entry of NNNNNNNNNNB for the bill-to customer but not for the ship-to customers.

What do I miss in the setup?

I am also having the same problem. I tried changing the RTM Group in IN-B for certain parts and it would not pull my modified rtm when printing the packing slip. I tried putting that rtm group in AR-A and it won't work there either. I need it to work for the part numbers rather than the customer but.....

Unfortunately, the rtm names are limited to 8 characters.  Therefore, the original rtm name cannot be more than 7 characters in order for the rtm print group to work.  Change the name of the base rtm to 7 characters and the print group rtm to the same name plus the print group character making it 8 characters.

What if you change the "Default RTM" back to the standard name such as T6SOC4.RTM and then add the "B" for the group?  It may be an issue with combining "special" RTM names with the RTM group even if you stay within the 8 character limit.

The RTM Print Group is only a feature in Evo, not Classic.  I tested a Packing Slip in both and it works in Evo but not Classic.  The Inventory print group applies to labels, not sales documents because there could be multiple inventory items on a shipment belonging to different groups.  It should work based on the customer setting; at least it does in my testing.
