I created a new company by copying an existing company.  I went into UT-K-A to clear out the Transaction Data of the old company.  Because it left so much information there that did not apply to the new company, I went back & cleared ALL DATA regarding the inventory.
 
When I go to IN-B to enter part numbers I get the message "There is no Data to List" - Click "OK"  & then the screen goes away.  So how do you enter information into the new company?  
 
Should I  
   A - start over with a new NEW COMPANY & do not delete ALL DATA?  If so, how do I easily delete inventory items with BOM that do not apply to the new company?
   B - Is there a way to fix the current situation?  Maybe a file that I need to run or something?  
 
I really need to know how to correct this situation.  I have tried in the past to set up different companies with no luck.  But I have to make this work this time.

Short term fix, UT-A, program T6INB.RUN and you can enter 1 part.  Once you have 1, you can go from there.

Thanks, Lynn.  That worked great.
 
Next question:  Is there an easy way to do a mass deletion of certain (but not all) customers & vendors?  I'm always a little leary of touching the Maintain Database file.

You could export the data, delete the ones you want using Excel, then delete tham all in Evo and import back in the ones you want to keep.

The other way to get around the No data in list is to use US-A and turn off opening list for INB.
 
 
 
The no data in List was fixed a few weeks ago too, but that will be in the next release. (in Sept)

Thanks for the advice - however, not ever doing an export/import from & back into EVO for the average Joe is easier said than done.  I managed to export after many, many, many tries.  I eventually got it.  I probably exported more data than I really needed but was not sure if I could delete columns or if it would interfere with the import. So I did not delete anything.
 
Now importing is a different animal all-together.  I brought the BKARCUST.TXT file into Excel & formatted the date fields as YYYYMMDD per the help instructions - I deleted all &,# signs in case that would be a problem with importing.  I tried saving the file as a .csv, .txt - went to DE-E, not sure what all those listings are for but I entered 1's in all of them - hit F10 got the message about the date formats, then I got the error message: "An error occurred while accessing a non-TAS file - R:\DBAMFG\BKARCUST.TXT" - hit OK then it goes back to the main menu.
 
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

make sure the file is not still open in Excel when you are trying to import.

Thanks, I think that was indeed my problem.   Now would you happen to know why it only brought in the Customer Code?  All of the info appears to be in the saved file that is being imported.  I'm sure it is something that I am doing incorrectly but I'm not sure what.   Is there anything special that I need to enter in the field to the left of each catagory?  I tried entering all 1's, tried Y for yes (wouldn't take it), I tried entering 1-2-3-4....... so on.

The field to the left is the column number of the CSV file that holds that particular piece of data.

LeAnn, maybe I can help make a little clearer.  In the Excel .CSV file of your exported data, your individual data fields are in seperate columns.  For example, vendor code might be in .CSV column "A", vendor name might be in .CSV column "B", etc.  Skip one row at end of last record into column "A" and enter "1", into column "B" and enter "2" and so on to last column name you are importing.  These numbers are the numbers in your import table that wants to know where to get the data for that field.  Where it is asking for vendor code and that is in column "A" and you have put a "1" there, you put "1" in the import table.  Where asking for vendor name, you put "2" and so on...use the number that represents the field in the import table.
 
Hope this makes a little clearer as it took me a while to get the hang of it as well.

Thanks for the advice.  Your explanation was beneficial - who would have ever guessed to add a row to the .CSV file & enter numbers to each column, then enter those numbers to the corresponding field.  One would think that an export from EVO would in-turn import its own column headings to like fields ...... But only if it were just that simple.  This has to be the most un-user friendly thing I can think of at the moment.  I would have been soooo much better off if I had just taken the not-so-lazy way out & simply re-entered all the information.  I will certainly do that with the vendors, part numbers, & such.
 
I only wanted to import certain fields so I put zeros in the fields I did not want, but of course it brought in its own info that it wanted to put there.  This export/import thing is for the birds.............
