Physical inventory numbers
12/02/09 at 08:21:01

When the screens for physical inventory come up, the first number is 9 and 10-12 are listed AFTER 1 instead of after 9.  So the number defaults to 9 not the last PI number(11).  Can we change this?  Are we supposed to be entering 1 as 01, 2 as 02, etc?

PS and while I am at it I might as well also complain about  purging PI in general-- just what does it get rid of? All the PI tables have records still for the PI's I have purged!  I am looking at BKPIMSTR, BKPIFROZ, BKPILCNT, BKPILOT, BKPIPYHS.

Can anyone help me with this question?  I have solved the first part by letting the person who freezes inventory know that she has to use 01, 02, etc when entering the number for physical inventory- at least I think this will solve the problem.
I am getting ready to update and clean up data files.  I would like to get the old physical inventory files deleted-- we haven't done this since 2007!  I need to know what files to clear since they don't seem to be clearing when I run the purge PI routine.
Does this Purge PI Program work better after the latest update?  Should I wait to do this until after I update?

I've always entered two digits. I do about 35-40 individual freezes annually.

I've never met with success cleaning them out. Each year I reinitialize the files.

I have never reinitialized-- is this done in EVO or Pervasive?  Which files do you reinitialize?

It is TAS-E, but there is no help file, so you may want to check with Lynn before jumping in. I just make a back up of all BKPInnnn files and then reinitialize them. Always wear proper attire and stand clear. This thing ejects ALL data. It seems to be the same as the SQL command TRUNCATE TABLE.

Afterward you'll have that Irish Spring fresh feeling.
