tp7runtime.exe hanging application error.
02/08/10 at 13:18:02

I keep getting a hanging application error, the event viewer reads

"hanging application tp7runtime.exe version 1.0.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0. hang address 0x00000000."

We just recently upgraded from 2007 to the newest 09 patch...and went from 2000i to 10x summit.  Any ideas why I would be getting that hanging error?

Is this on a workstation or the server?

What version of Windows?

What version of Evo?

Are you certain that ALL your workstations are on the same version of pervasive as the server?
Does the TP7.exe crash on the server too?
Have you excluded all the *.run, TP7runtime.exe, *.RTM and so on from your Anti-Virus scaning?

One other thing.  TP7RUNTIME.EXE never is loaded by itself.  It is always a call from EVOERP.EXE which loads first and is really a simple copy of TP7RUNTIME.EXE.  If EVOERP.EXE never hangs and TP7RUNTIME.EXE does then maybe the file itself is corrupted.  Is it only a single workstation with the problem?  If it is, delete C:\ISTS\TP7RUNTIME.EXE and then make a copy of EVOERP.EXE and rename to TP7RUNTIME.EXE.

Can you confirm that it happens on ALL of your workstations?  ...Or is it just on a few?

I believe that this error has happened on 3 client machines.  All of the clients have the latest pervasive install as the server does except for 2, simple because it's win 98 and we rarely use those machines...but we do sometimes to print labels via access odbc into the bkarinv table to pull out addresses.  I have not had a case of the tp7 crashing on the server though.  I will try to delete the tp7 and do the instructions you provided Lynn.  I have reason to believe that the error is caused with the bkarinvl.b table because it only happens on the sales side while they're entering/deleting line items... Thank you for your input though, really appreciate it! Smiley
