IN-A lookup error
03/31/10 at 12:42:32

When we type in a part number to pull up its record, we get a message saying "Invalid Part Number." However, when we pull up the lookup grid and find the part, it pulls up fine. This happened after we installed the latest update. Has anyone else had this problem?

I wonder if this is one of the instances where the item is missing from either BKICMSTR.B OR MTICMSTR.B (I forget which one).  I assume this part has been in existence for a while.

We had this happen several times - all you need to do is go to MTICMSTR in maintain database and add the item number there. It will then fix IN-A - no information was lost.

If there is a record in BKICMSTR the part will come up in IN-B where you can just tab through and save it to restore it in MTICMSTR. If it is in MTICMSTR and not in BKICMSTR then IN-B will say it does not exist and ask you if you want to create it. Recreating it will restore everything else (locations, history, allocations, etc.)

This is not an issue with a missing entry.  If it was then neither typing nor lookup would work.  If you go to Settings US-A and change your view to whichever one it is not set to, save the change and then change back, the problem will be corrected.
