S/O lookup button in IN/A
01/08/11 at 07:11:04

When we look up sales orders using the SO button at the bottom of the IN/A screen, It takes a huge amount of time for the screen to update with open orders. Is there something that can be done to speed this up? I have as many work orders and that updates very fast. I don't understand why Sales orders should be so different.

You can try doing some purging/archiving - that worked wonders for us!

Don't restrict the view to Open orders. Viewing all is much quicker. There is something wrong with that filter. It should scale better.

I don't have an answer for the initial question, but have a different problem along the same lines.

In EVO (1/18/11 with SP1) IN-A, select a part number, then hit SO button. When we try to then sort the grid by Sales Order number, we get the following error...

"You have tried to access a file that has not been previously opened, or the file number value (FNUM) passed was 0."

It does this for all users, including Admin. The 'sort by SO number' does work fine when 'SOLINES' is accessed via QU-E. Any ideas?

I did think of something, have you tried reindexing the affected files. We had performance problems before with a WO module and Lynn suggested re-indexing some files and it worked wonders. There is a program in DBA to reindex, and a list of the files in the help documents. Even if it doesn't solve your immediate problem, I think it is healthy for performance to reindex periodically and doesn't hurt anything that I'm aware of, we do it once per year.

I am having the same problem. S/O out of the IN/A screen used to take a while the first time I tried to access them after logging on but worked well after that. It has been degrading lately and now when I hit it, it takes 8-9 minutes to pull up sales orders. All other functions seem to respond fine. The problem seems to be getting worse and worse on its own. It is driving me insane. Any solution to this would be great!

I don't see an option for viewing all or open orders. I am using the SO button at the bottom in the classic view of T7INA.RWN. That returns open orders. Is there a way to see all orders?
