So, I've mentioned this elsewhere, and it might not be strictly considered a bug, but it ain't right.
When items are issued to type I (indirect) WOs, the WO BOM is updated and the part added to it and to WIP. This shows up in IN-A and other places, but it is not true. Then, if mroe of the same item are later issued to the WO, a negative allocation is created. Or, if you issue a part and then back it out, a positive allocation is created. A third problem with this is that using WO-G or HH-C to issue parts to these WOs causes a pop-up that confuses users. It asks if you want to add the item to the WO BOM, which is a simple yes or no question, but it breaks up the flow. The the case of the HH program it actually breaks the process and the fields do not clear at the end of issuing the parts. Several users have double-issued items because they hit Save again because they think the program is still waiting.
Both IN-A and any reporting program get bogus numbers due to this. I have not noticed if MRP is affected by this, but it might be.
I guess I'm asking for two things: 1) for IN-A to ignore WIP and allocations on type I WOs, and 2) skip the pop-up on type I WOs. Alternatively, just doing away with the WO BOM on type I WOs would sove both issues.
